Daughter Amanda, who lives in nearby Skelmersdale, praised lifestyle co-ordinator at the home Gill Seddon who can be heard encouraging Mavis through the song to the end.
Amanda added: “My mum used to sing this song when I was younger and she comes alive every time she sings it. Praise must go to the staff at Birch Green, they are fantastic and the way they look after my mum gives me real peace of mind. I am in awe of them.”
Phillipa McGrath, general manager at Birch Green Care Home, said: “Mavis is a pleasure and it’s satisfying to see her making this video message for Amanda. We do whatever is relevant and helps our residents, and this has really struck a chord with everyone at the home and further afield. Simon Cowell could do worse than watch this!”
