We think Queen Elizabeth II is one lucky lady, as she gets to celebrate not one but two birthdays. Following the celebrations of her actual 90th birthday on April 21 earlier in the year, it was time to mark her official birthday on June 11.
The monarchy has long held the tradition of celebrating its head of state’s special day twice, which is believed to be so the family can hold the birthday parade, known as Trooping the Colour, during the summer.
Birch Green residents were thrilled at the prospect of a second celebration, marking the grand occasion with a street style party, featuring balloons, union jacks, bunting and tasty refreshments including sandwiches, cakes and scones.
