Birch Green residents were looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow recently, when they celebrated the life of the patron saint of Ireland on Saint Patrick’s Day.
The annual festivity, also sometimes referred to as the Feast of Saint Patrick, falls on March 17 which is said to be the date Saint Patrick died.
It was a wonderful afternoon, with residents taking part in a special themed quiz with questions relating to all things Irish, as well as enjoying listening to Irish music.
There was also a glass of a traditional Irish tipple, Guinness or Baileys, to mark the occasion, with some staff and residents dressing up in green clothing and donning Leprechaun fancy dress hats.
