A care home is a busy place, and we’re always delighted to hear the thoughts of those who live, work and visit us at Birch Green.
As a result we have established a new family forum, a group of five relatives led by Mary Cash, which will help act as a voice of the residents.
Meeting once a month, this group will give relatives a real ownership of the care home and will help make recommendations to staff, as well as highlighting good practice.
This will be a real benefit to everyone, and general manager Carol Nickeas will be putting into practice the recommendations received and working closely with the forum to ensure its success.
This is still a relatively unusual step in the care sector but it’s one we are truly passionate about – we know that only when staff, residents and families are involved in the running of a care facility can it truly feel like home.
We look forward to working with the members of the forum.
Our first meeting will take place on Sunday 23rd March at 2.30pm
