Two senior staff from Birch Green Care Home attended the Royal College of Nursing’s Older People’s Nursing Conference held in Birmingham.
General manager Catherine Shawarby and lifestyle co-ordinator Karen House heard the very latest in research and information being discussed by the RCN at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
They were able to put up posters raising awareness of the innovative lifestyle activities at Birch Green as a result of submitting an abstract to the conference organiser following their call for papers late last year
They also attended workshops examining issues around older people and dementia to help keep abreast of the very latest developments in this field.
Karen said: “It was very helpful to hear the latest thinking from the RCN and we got a lot out of it. We like to keep up to date as this is a very fast moving area of our work.”
